Call Center functionality in LS Retail



Let us start with second part of our Call Center series in LS Retail. If you have missed the first part then here is the link for it. Let us begin to setup the basic things for the call center. 

Below is the  architecture for the Call center. Call center will have separate database. Head office Database cannot act as call center. You need to create separate database for the call center. 


For Call center setup main area of interest for the consultant is Call center DB. All the configuration should be done on the call center DB. Once configuration is done correctly on the call center DB then data can be easily pushed to the restaurant.

Elements which need it to be setup in CC database are the following.

1. Make store card as CC
2. Make terminals like CC001, CC002 and attach to the restaurant
3. Assign restaurant which too CC store for which call center functionality would work
4. Each Restaurant will have separate functionality profile. Functionality profile cannot be repeated for the stores.
5. Web services setup in the CC database.
6. Distribution Locations in the CC database

Call Center functionality in LS Retail

Recently i did project on call center, as that was my first call center project in LS Retail. That was strenuous task to handle and complete. I am glad we as a team were able to pull off that eventually. Setups are not that big to understand or configure only challenge that you will face regarding it is connectivity issues. Some connectivity issues may disrupt the normal flow between call center and the restaurant. 
There may not be many person who knows that LS Retail provides Call center module. Call Center is inbuilt module offered by LS in its retail solution along with Business Central/Microsoft dynamics NAV. 

In this series of blog i would cover the basic setup to run the call center. How data is flown from the Call center tot store and what kind of various communication happens among them. 

Each call center can take orders for many restaurants. Order taking is similar to the normal order taking process,  only after taking the order data is pushed to the restaurant. There is generally two way communication between the Restaurant and the call center. Tomorrow i will start the series where i will try to explain about all the setups related to configuring the Call Center in LS Retail.
