Control Maximum discount given by staff @ POS:- Microsoft Dynamics NAV/BC LS Retail

Maximum Discount @ POS

There are generally requirement in hospitality sector where we want control giving discount @ POS. Example Cashier can give maximum 5% discount at POS but Manager has the authority of giving 10% discount. Let us configure the above scenario. 

-> Staff has authority of giving maximum discount is 5%

-> Manager has authority of giving maximum discount is 10%

-> Staff User ID:- 101

->Manager User ID:- 901

Let us see step to achieve the same.  

Staff Permissions

1. Create a staff with ID 101 and give him Cashier permission. Refer to the below screen for reference.

2. Click on the permission on the Home TAB to set the exceptions.

3. Set the Exception for the Staff 101 Exceptions

Manage Permissions

1. Create a Manager with ID 901 and attach Manager permission to it. 

2. Now to go the manager permissions

3. Set the discount as 10% on Manager permission group

Login to POS with 101(Staff ID)

Try to give more than 5% discount on the POS

Login to POS with 901(Manager ID)

Try to give more than 5% discount on the POS

You can manage so many things with the staff permission group. You can create exception for the staff too.

Price Check @ POS-Microsoft Dynamics NAV/BC LS Retail

Price Check @ POS

LS Retail provides option to check the price of the product. There is standard command available for the users to incorporate in button. 

Price Check Command:- PRICECHK

Let us use Price Check functionality in LS NAV. 

1. Open LS Retail client 

2. Check the price for the item

3. Command in check price button

Add items to POS button :- Microsoft Dynamics NAV/BC LS Retail

"PLU_K" Command:- Adds Item to POS button

This topic is for freshers who are just commenced their learning in LS Retail. Today we would understand how we can add items to POS button. Items are mainly added to POS when we are dealing with restaurant business. In Retail chain or supermarket this is generally controlled by barcode. 

1. Go to Navision LS Retail database and search for Run Client or use the below path.

2. Client will open, Enter User Id and Password.

3. Select the button where you would like to add the item. Right click and then button properties

4. Boom! Now you can select the item on POS by pressing the button

Skip Free Text printing on POS-Microsoft Dynamics Navision/LS Retail

Free Text on customer receipt

In Microsoft Dynamics NAV/BC LS Retail we can control printing of the free text on the customer receipt/Invoice. Free text are generally used in restaurant business where generally waiter send instruction to chef in kitchen for the specific requirement regarding the dish customer ordered. 

This is how free text looks like

But we don't want the free text to be printed on the receipt which we issue customer. Let us see how can we achieve that.

1. Go to the functionality profile which is attached to the store/Terminal and uncheck the following option as shown in below image.

2. POS will not print the extra text on receipt
